Judge Rutherford once said, "Religion is a snare and a racket". We all should have listened to da Judge.
If inactive ones return it is like the dog returning to its vomit.
it appears that a new 16-page brochure, with the title "return to jehovah" is to be released at the regional convention (dc) this year.
it would be written specifically for those faded or da/df.chapters are:a letter from the governing body1.
the lost one i will search for2.

sorry for the long post but i need help.
ive been a jw for 20 years - still active and attending meetings, baptised at 18, i have recently become very dissillusioned.
a few reasons: ill treatment of my kids by a prominent 'assembly speaker' elder, then my son left the truth at 15 (not baptised) and was 'dropped' instantly, despite this community having been his whole life for 15 years.
What a lovely offer Mr Flipper to offer to chat on the phone with her. LHS123, Mr Flipper is one of the best people you can connect with, don't take the offer lightly.
i agree with the people who suggested fading. If this is possible, it can be slow but not as life changing all at once. It is also a good solution if your daughter has gotten baptised already.
Please read Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz and take note of his attitude. He is not bitter or full of hate. In fact look for that in any ex JW things you read or watch or listen to on YouTube etc. JW Facts is good too as they use the WT's own publications to support what they are saying. But most importantly, follow the advice on the Brooklyn Bethel building which says, "Read God's Word The Holy Bible Daily". If we had all followed that piece of advice instead of reading the literature spewing out of that building, we would all have been much better off.
There is a scripture which says, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, I will be there with them". You know the one. Note the two or three gathered. Not large congregations, conventions, etc. Ray Franz discusses this in his books and that is what he did after being DF'd. He did not join another faith or start his own, but had meaningful discussions and Bible readings within small groups. Something to think about.
All the advice from all the above commenters is worth your careful consideration. These people come from all over the world, so there are people on line all the time, whenever you can't sleep just do as I do and get on the forum. It is 2:15am here in Eastern Australia right now and I am on. I should be in bed but I am not. Others from the UK will be on now and the USA coming on soon. One thing that can be said for the organisation's unity is that no matter what part of the world we come from, we have all experienced the same things. The things the UK or USA people say, I can relate to. It is as if they are in my own cong.
All the best and keep in touch with the forum.
the site seems to have slowed up has everyone gone for their spring break?
what percentage would you say of all jehovah's witnesses really 100 percent follow the shunning decree to the letter just answer with a percent thank you
I think it depends how far up the popularity scale you are as to what you can do in lots of things including shunning. Make all the elders and their wives your best friend and you can get away with more including not shunning DF relatives because it is like everything, the more familiar people are with you, the harder it is to counsel and enforce the WT rules.
I was so far down the pecking order, I had to do everything by the book or else. Now I am fading they don't care or bother because they never really knew me anyway. I served Jehovah and not them. They didn't really know I served Jehovah but I think they certainly knew I didn't revere them.
here are a couple suggestions for slogans:.
missionary positions available".. 2.
where jesus isn't the only one coming for a second time".. .. add yours to the list.
Welcome back Anddontcallmeshirley.
Love everyones slogans.
you know, i always maintained that during this fading process, and while learning ttatt, i would not let myself get "bitter twisted and angry".... but, in all honesty, if i examine myself, i have become quite bitter toward the org, toward the false friends and the gb.. i have become angry as i see the extent of damage i feel being raised in "the truth" has done.... i feel hurt towards the lost opportunities in life etc.... how do i not allow myself to get too swallowed up by such bitterness?.
i have always been a very happy, positive, selfless person.
i can put people at ease, i am someone people feel comfortable chatting to.
Billy
Next time you're there could you please put Tight Pants Tony under the water for me?
Thanks!
i recently came across the very first kingdom song i ever heard.
twickenham, 1955. i was just a kid then of course, but i do recall the "buzz" that seemed to permeate everything, not dis-similar to that of an international rugby match.
people were smiling while singing their hearts out, the lunch-time queues for the cafeteria full of old friends getting re-aquainted, young lads and lasses eyeing one another and blushing furiously, sessions 2 untl 4 then 7 until 9.30 giving folk plenty of time to socialise.. where did it all go wrong?.
All the above comments sum up how I feel or felt. It was exciting, we were happy and the convoys to assemblies did foster a feeling of camraderie. I know why they stopped supplying the food too but the preparation and lining up for it all made for meeting others, renewing old friendships, etc. We all huddled together in rain and wind in grandstands or fanned ourselves in the heat. We talked on the way to the car to others and if kids were lost, some kindly person would help. I can't remember anyone being disfellowshipped. Instead I have fond memories of elderly faithful remnant sisters who were all called Auntie.
In fact it is all these memories that make me sad that my daughter can't experience what I experienced. It may not have been the truth, but it sure felt like it was or at least something special. I understand what attracted my parents to it in the 50's and many others too. I almost cried at the memory when I saw the cover of that old song book. I was very young when that book was in use but remember it like it was yesterday. I could not even read until the the pinky coloured one was released.
The first convention I really remembered was Melbourne, Australia in 1969. We lived in Melbourne and had a house full of people staying, sleeping in the lounge room, out the back in a caravan, a family in my room and me in with mum and dad. It was fun, especially for an only child. I was only 6 at the time. I got presents from some of the people when they left, a plastic farm playset, a dot to dot activity book and an LP record of children's songs. Brother Knorr was at the assembly which was exciting for me. I did not really understand who he was but there was a buzz about it all.
All those lovely Aunties are deceased now but are not forgotten. Auntie Eva, Auntie Ruth, Auntie Enid Duff and Auntie Ada Lewis. They all were unmarried, faithful sisters who gave their lives to Jehovah and I know that he will reward them in some way, if he hasn't already.
It is stuff like this that makes it so hard to accept what is going on now and so hard to stay. It may have the same name but is not the same religion that I grew up in.
i have thought about how ttatt came full circle for me.
how the connecting the dots was simple and just made sense,.
how silos of information are literally at our fingertips today.. why is it that the ones we love cannot get ttatt?.
OnTheWayOut
What you just said is the perfect explanation for why some see TTATT and others don't. It comes down to personal experiences. Some people are not experiencing anything bad or maybe they are the ones dishing it out to others, so they do not need to find TTATT. Everyone on this forum has a story and it is the story they have, no matter what it is that planted seeds of doubt and therefore they were led in one way or another to research or study outside the blue square.
ok, so if you haven't as yet watched the new cartoon clip on the website, be prepared to throw up!.
it is called "jehovah loves all sorts of people", and features an awful song about how "jehovah loves everyone" even "different colors", etc....yep...they actually say that!.
huh??????.
